Call to Action
In the 2021 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Proposed Rule
CMS has outlined a 13% cut to radiology fees which is driven by a revaluation
of certain Evaluation and Management codes that favor certain primary care
subspecialties. Without Congressional
action to waive budget neutrality or mitigate in another way, these cuts to
radiology and other subspecialties will go into effect on January 1, 2021.The Moran Company, in a report to the American College of Radiology (ACR),
has projected this will be a $452M cut to diagnostic radiology in a single year
and a $5.6B trended loss over a 10-year period. The loss in a single year to all imaging (including imaging within other
specialties) would be $719M.
