Announces Board of Directors for 2006-2007

IRVINE, CA (June 7, 2006) — Effective June 7, 2006, the Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) elected and installed new board members for 2006-2007.

Shannon J. Doyle succeeds Patrick L. Epting as President. Mr. Doyle is chief executive officer of Colorado Springs Radiologists as well as the CEO for Penrad Imaging, a freestanding imaging joint venture with Catholic Health Initiatives. He has held the RBMA Western Regional positions of secretary, treasurer, vice-president and president.

Gregory M. Kusiak, MBA, is President-elect. Mr. Kusiak is the practice manager of The Hill Medical Corporation, a radiology group in Pasadena, CA, and president of CMBS, Inc., a billing and practice management company. He has been a healthcare manager since 1970, including stints as a hospital administrator and management consultant, and has been in radiology management since 1985.

Barbara F. Rubel, MBA, serves as secretary for the second year. Ms. Rubel currently provides comprehensive client support services for MSN clients, from the initial practice audit through contract implementation.

Cynthia M. Pittmon is Treasurer. Ms. Pittmon began her career as a radiology practice administrator in 1982. She is the founder and president of Specialty Group Services (SGS) a radiology billing and practice management company established in 1993.

Lawrence P. Johnson, RCC, is Parliamentarian. He is the founder of Medical Billing & Management Services and has served as its president for the past twenty years.

Dr. Mark O. Bernardy has been very involved in the ACR Managed Care Committee and Network for the last seven years. He currently serves as President of the Georgia Radiological Society and Treasurer of their PAC.

Dave Gorman and Scott Raymond serves as Eastern Directors. Mr. Gorman is the business manager for radiology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.

Mr. Raymond is in the second year of his term. He is vice president of business development for Shields Health Care Group and has been involved in healthcare services, sales, marketing, development, acquisitions and diagnostic imaging operations since 1986.

Walter C. Blackham, MS, RCC, and Julie G. Lester, MBA serve as Midwest Directors. Mr. Blackham is currently the president and CEO of Specialty Medical Services, Inc. He is also principal of Radiology Coding Consultants, Inc.

Ms. Lester is her second year of her term. She has been providing comprehensive practice management services for Radiologic Medical Services, P.C. in Iowa City, Iowa for the past 13 years.

Shannon Hampson and Wendy Lomers, MBA, CPA, serve as Southern Directors. Ms Hampson is the administrator for Abercrombie Radiology and president of the RBMA Chapter in Tennessee.

Ms. Lomers is in the second year of her term. She is administrative director for Radiology Associates of San Antonio and is responsible for strategic planning and management of a multi-hospital based practice as well as ten wholly owned imaging centers.

Steve Schreiber and Kathleen A. Wolf, RCC, serve as Western Directors. Mr. Schreiber is the chief operating officer for Via Radiology Associates in Seattle, Washington.

Ms. Wolf is in the second year of her term. She is business manager for Western Colorado Radiologic Associates, P.C. Ms. Wolf chairs the RBMA Coding Committee, and earned her RCC certification among the very first group of RCC examinees.

The Radiology Business Management Association is a national not-for-profit association established in 1968 in recognition of the need for educational resources for radiology management professionals. The RBMA has approximately 2,000 members involved in various management capacities in private practices, academic radiology groups and imaging centers. The RBMA continues to be recognized as the leader for radiology-specific educational programs, products and services.
