Radiology Business Management Association
Announces New Executive Director

IRVINE, CA (February 15, 2006)—The Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) is pleased to announce the selection of Michael R. Mabry as the new executive director effective February 15, 2006.

Michael R. Mabry joins RBMA after working eight years as assistant executive director at the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) in Fairfax, Virginia. In his capacity as Assistant Executive Director for the SIR, Mr. Mabry was responsible for coding, reimbursement, and coverage of interventional radiology procedures. He also directed SIR’s political and legislative activities, including SIR’s political action committee (SIRPAC).

Prior to joining SIR in 1998, Mr. Mabry worked for the American College of Radiology (ACR) in the Research and Economic and Health Policy departments beginning in 1987. He has been a member of the RBMA for several years and recently spoke on economic benchmarks and clinical standards at the jointly sponsored RBMA/SIR Interventional Radiology Symposium.

Mr. Mabry earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1986 and Masters of Arts degree in 1993 in Economics from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).

“Mike comes to us after 18 combined years with ACR and SIR. We are confident that Mike will work well with the Board of Directors of RBMA to position us as the premier source for radiology information,” said current RBMA president, Patrick L. Epting.

Mr. Mabry will be spearheading the move of the RBMA offices from Irvine, California to the Washington, D.C. area. Presently, he resides in the Fairfax, Virginia area with his wife and two children.

The Radiology Business Management Association is a national not-for-profit association established in 1968 in recognition of the need for educational resources for radiology business management professionals. The RBMA has approximately 2,000 members involved in various management capacities in private practices, academic radiology groups and imaging centers. The RBMA continues to be recognized as the leader for educating professionals in the business of radiology.
