Radiology Business Management Association Announces Educational Seminars Qualify for Category 1 Physician CMEs and Category A CEs
ALISO VIEJO, CA (July 21, 2003) -The Radiology Business Management Association (RBMA) has been approved through the American College of Radiology (ACR) to offer Category 1 Physician Continuing Medical Education credits (CMEs) beginning with courses offered at the 2003 RBMA Fall Educational Conference. A total of 27.5 hours of Category 1 credit towards the American Medical Association's (AMA) Physicians Recognition Award will be allowed. The same total hours will also meet the criteria for Category A credits approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) for Radiologic Technologists and Radiation Therapists.
"RBMA is excited to present this opportunity to physicians. Operating a medical practice as a business is not a course taught in medical school. While most physicians hire business managers, many are still actively involved in the management of their practices. By attending educational sessions with RBMA, physicians will have the opportunity to educate themselves in the business arena as well as earn necessary continuing education credits," says, Claudia Dwyer, RBMA President.
The Radiology Business Management Association is a national not-for-profit association established in 1968 in recognition of the need for educational resources for radiology management professionals. The RBMA has approximately 1,700 members involved in various management capacities in private practices, academic radiology groups and imaging centers. The RBMA continues to be recognized as the leader for radiology-specific educational programs, products and services.
The American College of Radiology is a 30,000-member organization devoted to making imaging safe, effective and accessible to those who need it through education, research, accreditation programs, guidelines for quality imaging and advocacy.
The RBMA 2003 Fall Educational Conference will be held Sept. 14-17, 2003, at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Education will include sessions on working relationships, the latest HIPAA developments, interventional radiology coding, marketing, operating imaging centers as well as other pertinent radiology-specific topics. The Fall Educational Conference is open to all individuals involved in radiology business practice management. Registration fees are discounted for RBMA members.
