Kathleen G. Bailey, CPA, MBA, CPC, CPC-I founded Practice Management Solutions in 2006.  Prior to this, her experience in the healthcare field included working as a group practice administrator for over 27 years. Ms. Bailey specializes in accounts receivable management, coding audits and training, practice mergers, managed care negotiations and physician relationships. She has worked to establish new solo and group medical practices, conduct comprehensive practice evaluations, provide coding education, and assist with advisory services for the ongoing successful management of practices. Ms. Bailey earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting and MBA degree from Florida State University and is a CPA, licensed in both Florida and Georgia.  She is also a member of the AAPC where she earned her Certified Professional Coder certification in 1999 and Professional Medical Coding Curriculum Instructor certification in 2008. 

Jeffrey C. (Jeff) Bauer, PhD, a nationally recognized health futurist and medical economist, is a Chicago-based management consulting partner at Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (ACS). As leader of the futures practice for ACS Healthcare Solutions, he forecasts the future of healthcare and describes practical, creative approaches to improving the delivery system. Dr. Bauer has published more than 160 articles, books, web pages, and videos on healthcare delivery. He speaks frequently to national and international audiences about key trends in healthcare, medical science, technology, information systems, reimbursement, public policy, health reform, and creative problem-solving.

Rosemary Broderick, FACHE, is the corporate executive of Advanced Imaging Specialists, an outpatient diagnostic imaging company located in northeastern Pennsylvania. A native of northeastern Pennsylvania, she holds a master’s degree in health administration and counselor education and is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives. She has been involved in healthcare management and administration since 1985 and in the radiology business since 2001.

Ted Burnes, MPA, earned an undergraduate degree in government and politics from George Mason University and a Masters of Public Administration from The George Washington University. Mr. Burnes has worked as a consultant on numerous political campaigns at the local, state and federal levels. He has also lobbied at the state and federal levels on various issues, including health policy. Most recently, Mr. Burnes worked at The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Association as the Director of National Advocacy Outreach.

W. Kenneth Davis, Jr., JD is a partner in the law firm of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.  He counsels healthcare providers on the structuring, growth and ongoing operations of all types of businesses and relationships including initial business model development, analysis of regulatory, compliance and reimbursement issues, negotiation of contracts, various types of financings, and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Davis received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Chicago and his law degree with honor from DePaul University College of Law.

Lisa DiTullio is principal of Lisa DiTullio & Associates, a practice dedicated to introducing project management as a business competency, enabling organizations to improve decision-making, instill accountability and enhance communications.  As past director of the project management office (PMO) at Boston-based Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Ms. DiTullio was a core member of the turnaround team for an organization that went from being placed in State-supervised receivership in 1999 to being the #1 Health Plan in America on the U.S. News & World Report/NCQA America’s Best Health Plans four years in a row. She is a recognized international speaker in her field and a published author. Scores of organizations – from college campuses to governmental agencies to Fortune 100 companies have gained from her insights and tell-it-like-it-is keynotes and programs.  Audience members and workshop participants leave educated, engaged and energized – armed with actionable practices for immediate success.

Fred Downs, RN, PhDc, has been involved in healthcare management and administration for the past 30 years, holding various positions such as CNO/Associate Dean, COO, and CEO. For the past seven years he has been the practice administrator for Diagnostic Imaging Specialists in Atlanta, Georgia and is adjunct professor at the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University.  He holds a BSN from Jacksonville State University, an MSN from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and is PhD candidate at Georgia State University.

Adrienne Dresevic, Esq. is a partner with The Health Law Partners, P.C. where she practices in all areas of healthcare law and devotes a substantial portion of her practice to providing clients with counsel and analysis regarding Stark and fraud and abuse.  Ms.  Dresevic graduated Magna Cum Laude from Wayne State University Law School in 2002. 

Janet Duffy, RT (R)(M) is the compliance administrator for Radiological Associates of Sacramento Medical Group, Inc. She has been overseeing the quality assessment and improvement activities of the Diagnostic Division – which includes 15 outpatient sites and 40 radiologists – since 1997. Ms. Duffy is also responsible for the practice’s accreditation with the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care.  She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.

Robert E. Gontarek is an experienced healthcare professional with over 20 years' experience in managing diagnostic imaging, hospital-based medical specialties and hospital-based billing companies. Mr. Gontarek serves as the chief operating officer of Diagnostic Health Corporation, one of the largest outpatient imaging firms in the nation. Prior to joining Diagnostic Health, he held a number of executive positions with radiology practice management firms.

Thomas W. Greeson, JD is a partner in the healthcare practice group of Reed Smith LLP.  His practice focuses on the healthcare industry representing radiologists and diagnostic imaging providers involving health and hospital law, managed care contracting, antitrust, Medicare reimbursement, fraud and abuse, not-for-profit law, legislative and regulatory, and licensure and disciplinary matters. Previously, he served as general counsel for the American College of Radiology. 

Melanie Haymond, BSRT is a senior level strategist with a strong technical background, high level management experience, competitive industry proven sales/marketing experience, a solid understanding of physician need, press experience, and key message and advertising development skills. It is from this experience that she has been recognized within her profession as one of the leading diagnostic imaging marketing consultants. Prior to developing her consulting practice, Ms. Haymond worked as the marketing director for EPIC Imaging in Portland, Oregon and Inland Imaging in Spokane, Washington.

Ron Howrigon is president of Fulcrum Strategies, a company that he founded. Fulcrum Strategies is a provider advocacy company that offers a variety of services and products to physicians and hospitals in order to help them effectively deal with their managed care contracts and relationships. Mr. Howrigon has 18 years of experience in the managed care industry as a negotiator and network manager. He has held senior management level positions with three of the largest managed care companies in the country including Kaiser Permanente, CIGNA HealthCare and BlueCross BlueShield.

David F. Jakielo, CHBME, has been speaking, consulting and teaching business methods throughout North America, Europe and Asia for over 30 years. He has extensive experience in sales, marketing, customer service, business start-ups and turnarounds. He is co-author of four books, including Conversations on Success, and is also a regular columnist in various trade journals. Mr. Jakielo served as president of the Healthcare Billing & Management Association, president of the National Speakers Association – Pittsburgh Chapter, and the International Brotherhood of Magicians.

Carey F. Kalmowitz, Esq., is a founding partner of The Health Law Partners, P.C. Mr. Kalmowitz graduated from New York University Law School in 1994 and from Vassar College in 1989. He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in 1994. He practices in all areas of healthcare law, with specific concentration on the corporate and financial aspects of healthcare, including structuring revenue-enhancing transactions among physicians and other healthcare providers, certificate of need, compliance investigations, corporate fraud and abuse/Stark and third party payment and reimbursement.  In addition, Mr. Kalmowitz has authored several articles in the healthcare field.

Angela Krause, RT, ARRT graduated in radiologic technology in 1986 and began work as a Rad Tech and continued training in other modalities.  In 1990, she worked for a mobile imaging company doing CT.  She advanced to chief tech, then supervisor of CT, then regional operations manager managing operations for CT, MRI, Ultrasound and Nuclear Medicine in the western states.  In 1998, she worked for InSight Health Services managing multiple outpatient imaging centers.  In 2004 she began working for Radiological Associates of Sacramento where she currently manages five outpatient imaging centers as well as central scheduling and medical records.  

Lauren Krebs is a radiology recruitment specialist for American Medical Recruiters. She is formally trained and extensively experienced in recruiting, marketing, and placing physicians. She attended the University of South Florida majoring in Business Administration and Public Relations.  Ms. Krebs currently represents private practice radiology groups as well as academic radiology departments throughout the country. Through her relationships with numerous administrators and radiologists, she has become very familiar with the procedures utilized when adding a radiologist.

Patricia Kroken, FACMPE, CRA is a former radiology practice manager and has worked as a business consultant to radiology practices, billing companies, hospitals and imaging centers for the past eight years. She is a regular contributor to the RBMA Bulletin and various national radiology publications—as well as a frequent speaker on radiology management topics. She is a Fellow in the American College of Medical Practice Executives and a Certified Radiology Administrator. 

Brigette LaBar was most recently a client services manager for Zotec Partners. She began her career in revenue cycle management after receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in financial management from the California State University at Long Beach. She has worked as a senior consultant on revenue cycle management projects, medical billing information systems analyses and installations. Ms. LaBar combines her revenue cycle management skills, information technology experience and physician practice management know-how to provide consistent, reliable and forward-thinking information to radiology groups.

Kim Longeteig has over 12 years' experience in marketing, advertising and graphic design, which began in broadcast television with the FOX network, prior to beginning her career in radiology marketing. Previously working as the director of marketing for two outpatient imaging facilities in Washington state and in California, she is now based on the Big Island of Hawaii where she operates her own company, Ali`i Marketing & Design. Ms. Longeteig specializes in providing independent graphic design and marketing consulting services specific to radiology and healthcare companies. She is actively involved in the RBMA and currently serves on the RBMA Board of Directors as the Western Director and is the Chair of the Educational Materials and Products Committee and has previously served as the Chair of the Marketing Committee.  Ms. Longeteig actively participates in her community and has enjoyed many honors including being named one of Clark County’s Top 40 Under 40 Young Community and Business Leaders.

Leonard Lucey, JD is legal counsel and senior director for Non-Breast Imaging Accreditation Programs for the American College of Radiology.  He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and sociology from McKendree College in Illinois and a J.D. degree from Southern Illinois University.  While serving as a Judge Advocate in the United States Army he received an LL.M. from the University of Virginia.  He has been a practicing attorney for 30 years with a primary concentration in medical-legal issues. Mr. Lucey has been with the American College of Radiology since 1993, serving first as assistant general counsel until 2001 when he became a senior director for the ACR Department of Quality and Safety and concentrated his efforts on accreditation programs and related activities.

Frank Marshall, MBA is chief operating officer for MedSynergies leading the integration, accounts receivable follow-up, payment posting, information management and technology business units of the company. He is a national speaker on the topics of revenue cycle management, billing and collections. He has a Master of Arts in business administration from St. Mary’s Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jeremy N. Miller, JD is the founder and president of Miller Health Law Group. Mr. Miller is a 1977 graduate of Northwestern University School of Law, where he was a member of the Law Review. In 1974, he received his undergraduate degree in political science, cum laude, from the University of Illinois. For the past 25 years, Mr. Miller has specialized in counseling medical groups, individual physicians, IPAs, MSOs, healthcare facilities, companies, joint ventures and suppliers for organizational, operational and regulatory matters, managed care contracting, third party reimbursement, hospital-physician contracting, fraud and abuse, "Stark" and other federal and state compliance issues, Medicare and Medicaid audits and medical practice and facility purchases, sales, syndications, affiliations, mergers and dissolutions. Mr. Miller was recognized in 2006, 2007 and 2008 as a "Super Lawyer" by Los Angeles Magazine. The peer-based award recognizes the top 5 percent of healthcare attorneys in Los Angeles and Orange Counties.

Sonal N. Patel, MBA, BS, MT(ASCP) has extensive experience working in healthcare from both the provider and vendor perspective. Prior to Corepoint Health, she served as a Medical Technologist and Laboratory Supervisor at Roche Diagnostic/Golden Triangle Regional Medical Center/Baptist Memorial Hospital and also operated in several client services, support and training roles at Antrim/Sunquest/Misys Healthcare Systems. At Corepoint Health, Ms. Patel has worked with various radiology groups in streamlining workflows and strengthening referring physician ties with an integrated, automated approach.

Lauren Paulsen has a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from Baylor University. Her professional career has been spent in sales and marketing roles for software and technology companies. At Corepoint Health, Ms. Paulsen leads the company's focus on the radiology market working with over 40 groups to streamline workflow and optimize operations through connectivity and integration.

Cindy Pittmon, RCC, CHBME began working as a radiology administrator more than 20 years ago. After completing her business degree at LeTourneau University in 1993, Ms. Pittmon formed her own billing company, Specialty Group Services (SGS), specializing in radiology practice management. She led the development of the Radiology Coding Certification Board (RCCB) and was honored to serve as the first President of the RCC Board of Directors completing her term on the Board in 2006. She is actively involved in the RBMA and currently serves on the RBMA Board of Directors as President.

Michael Pittmon joined Specialty Group Services (SGS) in January of 2001 after a successful 13-year career in manufacturing. His experience includes quality assurance, product development, process improvement and environmental, health and safety regulatory compliance. Mr. Pittmon served on numerous national committees with Underwriters Laboratories, the Canadian Standards Association, the American National Standards Institute, and the National Electrical Manufacturers Association to develop product safety standards. At SGS he has focused on process improvement and automation to increase productivity and to improve client outcomes.  Mr. Pittmon earned BS and MS degrees from the University of Texas at Tyler.

John M. Remy, JD is the managing partner of the Jackson Lewis Washington, D.C. Region office. Mr. Remy’s practice focuses exclusively on labor and employment litigation and counseling. Mr. Remy represents employers in federal and state court lawsuits covering a wide range of statutes and subjects, including federal and state anti-discrimination laws, whistleblower and wrongful termination claims, wage and hours laws, covenants not to compete, breach of duty of loyalty, and breach of contract. As part of Mr. Remy’s counseling practice, he provides daily counseling and training to management to help employers avoid litigation. In December 2008, SmartCEO magazine named Mr. Remy one of the D.C. area’s “go to” SmartLawyers.  Mr. Remy is a member of the Virginia, Maryland and District of Columbia Bars, as well as the bars of numerous federal district and appellate courts. He graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University and received his Juris Doctor degree with honors from the University of Michigan Law School.  He is a member of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee for Habitat for Humanity of Northern Virginia.

Donna Richmond, BA, RCC, CPC, is a senior healthcare consultant with Medical Learning, Inc.  She had previously worked as coding services manager at CodeRyte, Inc., directing 30+ coders and assisting clients with coding questions. Prior to joining CodeRyte she was employed with a practice management/billing company with experience in billing, coding and compliance. Ms. Richmond received her BA from Louisiana College. She holds certifications from the RCCB and AAPC. She was president of the local AAPC chapter for two terms, and secretary for one term. Ms. Richmond is currently a member of the RBMA Programs Committee and Chair of the Coding sub-committee.  She previously served on the Radiology Coding Certification Board as RBMA Liaison and the Education Committee. She has been a frequent contributor to several coding list-serves, as well as to articles in Radiology Coding Alert, Radiology Pink Sheet, and other coding newsletters.  She has provided seminars on coding to LHIMA, Louisiana BlueCross/Blue Shield, local AAPC chapters and others.

Maurine Spillman-Dennis, MPH, MBA is a senior director in the Department of Economics and Health Policy at the American College of Radiology (ACR) and has worked at the ACR for two years. She is a graduate of Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin and also holds a Masters of Public Health and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Robert T. Still is practice manager for Lancaster Radiology Associates, Ltd. in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a position he has held for nearly 16 years.  Mr. Still is very familiar with volunteer leadership organizations and budgeting having been involved in numerous non-profit and professional associations’ Boards of Directors throughout his career. In addition, he served four years in the Delaware State Senate and plans to bring that political perspective to the RBMA.

John R. Thomas, MBA has been with MedSynergies, Inc. since its inception in 1996, where he has held positions such as managing director of development, senior vice president and chief financial officer. He has been a member of the board of directors since 1999. He is currently the president and chief executive officer. Prior to joining MedSynergies, Mr. Thomas was the vice president of the newly formed HealthCare Finance Group for Bank One. He was also the assistant vice president for Texas Commerce Bank, where he focused on hospitals, emerging healthcare markets, core finance and revenue. He is a national speaker on topics such as revenue cycle management, billing and collections processes and capitalization, raising funds, bank debt, turnaround and high/low debt revenue. Mr. Thomas received his Master of Business Administration, with honors, from the University of Texas Graduate School of Business where he was selected as the Sword Scholar and received the Dean’s Academic Award. Mr. Thomas received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas.
