RBMA’s 2006-2009 Strategic Plan:
Growth, Engagement and Value…Centered in Trust

Things are changing – in a great way – At RBMA.

In order to serve our members better, RBMA has taken a hard look at industry trends and the current environment, and has aligned the Strategic Plan with the rapid changes occurring in the healthcare industry. This new direction is firmly rooted in RBMA’s traditional values and trust between the association and its members.

Taken collectively, the blending of RBMA’s new direction with its longstanding identity yields the central theme of the new strategic plan: “Growth, Engagement and Value…centered in Trust.”

Growth: By recognizing that the profile of those who need our services has changed dramatically and remain relevant, essential to business, and centrally positioned, RBMA must continue to grow, seeking ways to accommodate these new potential members – assimilating them into our organizational culture and harnessing their energies to strengthen our ability to influence health care.

Engagement: To shape and influence the imaging environment for the future, RBMA must be a primary, activist participant in the healthcare arena - with other organizations and sectors.

Value: In a fluid, changeable radiology environment, influenced by expanding technology, new competition, exploding healthcare costs and increasing cost-controls, the demand for education and other relevant products and services is more intense than ever. As radiology business professionals evolve in this environment, RBMA needs to closely monitor and meet their needs.

After completion of a thorough assessment of RBMA’s current position and future needs, four core goals emerged from the strategic planning process, centered on increasing membership value, broadening education, providing more information and data, and striving for organizational excellence:

Goal 1: Member Value – RBMA will deepen the value of RBMA membership, resulting in more members and increased member satisfaction.

Goal 2: Education – RBMA will diversify, broaden and target its educational offerings to satisfy all types of members.

Goal 3: Information and Data – RBMA will be the data provider of choice for radiology business performance measures and business indicators.

Goal 4: Organizational Effectiveness – RBMA will continue to successfully move to a more professional, business-like and effective organization.

As an RBMA member, you will benefit directly on a practical level from the new strategic plan – largely from a new array of goods and services we expect to develop over the next three years. A robust and growing RBMA means that we will be here for you for years to come. As members of the radiology community, we must recognize and adapt to the dynamic and fast-changing healthcare landscape around us. And we believe our new vision for the future will help you accomplish that goal.
