With the advent of Medicare and separate billing for radiological services, radiologists acknowledged the advantage of having managers handle their businesses. Those involved in operating a radiology business had limited resources in which to rely on for pertinent information soon saw the need to contact others in similar situations to discuss challenges often faced in running a business. The Radiology Business Management Association was formed to serve as that core resource.
